At a national level, the AFP continues to work successfully with the Australian Government and key agencies on a range of counter-terrorism, crime-fighting and capacity building initiatives.
The AFP has joined CCJAP through AusAID to provide a senior officer to support implementation of reform initiatives in the Cambodian national Police.
Domrei Research & ConsultingDomrei has extensive experience in research design, literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative surveys, and data analysis. This association will be used to assist in �external monitoring� through conducting timely surveys and investigations on topics such as community perceptions of police, attitudes to community safety, use of alternatives to imprisonment for juveniles, and treatment of women victims of crime by the police and courts.
Gender & Development for Cambodia (GAD/C) www.online.com.kh/~gadGAD/C promotes gender equity in social, economic and political processes in Cambodia through advocacy, networking, training, and information dissemination. GAD/C provides the projects gender adviser and the association will ensure timely information flow on developments within both government and non government gender development networks. An internship program run by GAD/C will be further developed to assist in the promotion and mainstreaming of gender issues by government officials within the Ministry of Justice and Interior.
Khulisa www.khulsaservices.co.zaKhulisa is a South Africa organisation providing culturally appropriate education, training and personal development in communities, schools, places of safety and correctional facilities. Strong interest was expressed in these programs during a RGOC study tour to South Africa, This association will be used to complement and strengthen CCJAP prison reform efforts, focusing on prisoner rehabilitation, HIV/AIDS peer education and train-the-trainer programs as well as offender reintegration, to promote the reduction of re-offending.
World Vision www.worldvision.org.kh World Vision through its peace and justice program has been delivering a number of well respected initiatives consistent with the project focusing themes from village level to national level. This association will support the expansion of proven WV initiatives via the proposed CPCS structures, with an aim to mainstream these through the RGOC D&D framework.
Pannasastra University Cambodia (PUC) www.pannasastra.org/PUCPUC will support the placement of Community Legal Education Clinic students into project sites in support of access to justice objectives. This will assist marginalised persons better understand the meaning of rule of law, and how to protect their rights and privileges. PUC will also provide academic support and tertiary institutional linkages in support of community justice and legal and judicial sector strengthening activities.
Save the Children (Australia) (SCA) www.savethechildren.org.auSCA will provide input into project plans where they touch on children�s issues. The SCA Youth Advisory Panel model will be used to provide youth input into the design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of project youth centred activities. Specific initiatives such as the SCA Child abuse, prevention & protection strategies will also be introduced into project structures with a view to encouraging mainstreaming by government.
Centre for Transnational Crime Prevention (CTCP) www.uow.edu/lawCTCP has an interdisciplinary research and teaching centre focusing on the operation, prevention, and responses to transnational crime. The Centre will allocate a focal point to provide technical assistance, research and training personnel to assist in information exchange.
Assai www.assai.com.auAssai are specialists in stakeholder driven construction and infrastructure projects and combine the effective mobilisation of local knowledge and resources with international good practice and formal systems. Assai will assist in the preparation of a strategy for capital works investments, which includes approaches for sustainable capacity building at the institutional, private sector and community levels.
