The Corrections Law Working Group held a
workshop on 27 August 2008 at Imperial Garden Hotel to review the final draft
of the corrections law.
Mr Kuy Bunsorn, Deputy General Director, General Department
of Prisons is the chair of the working group and has been leading the workshop.
He and the other members have presided over an extensive internal consultation
process with each department of the General Department of Prisons.
Ms Rani
Young, an international legal drafter and Mr Lam Kunboth CCJAP project officer-Prison
Management, have been facilitating this process and have written a draft law
that has taken into account the variety of needs of these departments.
This has
culminated in the final draft of the corrections law that will now be used for
further consultation with key stakeholders.
